We had a great year!! Our Children’s Choir continues to be a powerhouse of joyful song. Our Youth Choir has become an amazing group of talented young people – they are the highlight of my week! On June 8th our wonderful Youth Choir will travel to Reformation Lutheran Church in Milwaukee to share the music they have sung at CTS this year. Both choirs are a delight for me to work with! Thank you to the kids and their parents for keeping up with schedules and rehearsals !!! Guess what’s swinging up ahead? Rainforest Adventure VBS! Dates: July 21-25 Time: 9:00 until noon Cost: will be between $5 and $10 per child All kids between the ages of 3 (need to be potty trained) and 4th grade are invited to swing on in! We will listen to great stories about Jesus, make cool crafts, sing fun songs, play zany games, and make a jungle of friends! We are also in need of help from some of our older members in order to pull off a successful week of VBS. If you are an adult looking for a fun-filled way to connect with some of our young members, please consider volunteering part or all of the week. We need classroom teachers, helpers, activity guides, activity monitors, etc. Please sign your name on the poster in the narthex, and we will contact you to see what you would be interested in doing. If you are a student in grades 5 or above, we need you as well. You are a role model for the children in VBS, and we would love to have you help model your faith by helping our young members as they learn about Jesus through stories, crafts, games, songs, etc. If you’d like to help our young members learn about Jesus, sign up on the poster in the narthex. Mrs. Engen Sunday School Offering Big congratulations and thank you to all our Sunday School Students for their witness to generous giving! The Sunday School offering for last year totaled over $1000 - a new record! Our program was called “Bus Tickets - Walk in My Socks” and we worked with our sister congregation – Reformation Lutheran on Milwaukee’s north side. There is a continuing need for bus passes to help people at Reformation get to jobs, doctors appointments, church etc. Fantastic! Congratulations! Words of Gratitude from Lutheran Church of the Reformation Dear Christ The Servant Sunday School, Amazing! You all are amazing! The bus tickets just keep coming and coming from you! You kids are WONDERFUL! This gift of funding for bus tickets will serve a neighborhood that is very poor. It is so cold outside and hard to walk without slipping on icy sidewalks, so there are many smiles all around with your precious gift of bus tickets. You are mindful of peoples’ suffering. You saw a need for the children and adults of our neighborhood and fulfilled it. We see that you have gotten to know our ministry and us. We really have become friends! To everyone, all that participated in this Sunday School bus ticket project, thank you for a miraculous job of helping Reformation Lutheran Church. This is God’s home; you are always welcome! Blessings, Marge and everyone at Reformation L.C. CONGRATULATIONS to MATTHEW KATZKE You may have noticed that Matthew Katzke was featured in the Waukesha Freeman recently. Many of you know of Matthew’s remarkable work in organizing the students of Prairie School, where he is in the fifth grade, to create the largest student group (and one of the largest groups ever) to walk in this year’s River Walk for Breast Cancer. For that amazing work Andrew was award the local Kohl’s Store, “Kohl’s Kids Who Care” scholarship. That award will enter him in the regional competition with a chance to win a $5,000 scholarship for post high school education. We are very proud of Matthew! Matthew says he has bigger plans for next year and is working on a way to get all Waukesha schools involved in the walk. If anyone can do it, I think Matthew can. Matthew is a “kid who cares”.
